Otis Street Playground Meeting April 1

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Ward 1 Alderman Matt McLaughlin, and the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development (OSPCD) invite all interested community members to the third Otis Street Playground community meeting to review the three draft plans, and to select the components which will be included in the final plan. The meeting will be held at the East Somerville Community School Auditorium, 50 Cross St., on Wed., April 1 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  Please join us to help shape the design of the new playground.

The 2015 Municipal Elections Calendar is available below. The City of Somerville encourages all eligible residents to register to vote and participate in the elections process.

Please note: The 2015 Preliminary Election is on a Thursday this year: September 17th, 2015. Nomination papers will be available on Monday, May 11th at the Elections Office (in the lower level of City Hall, at 93 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143).

Apply for Discounted MBTA Youth T Passes by 4/30

In a new partnership with the City of Somerville, the MBTA is offering reduced fare passes to eligible 12- to 21-year-old residents via their Youth Pass pilot program. The pilot will run run for a year from July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2016, and a limited number of passes will be issued. Somerville youth in this age bracket may apply for the program, which will offer monthly passes for $26 or a 7-day pass for $7 based on availability, by filling out an application found at mbta.com/youthpass, or in the Personnel Department at City Hall, 93 Highland Ave.
