5th Annual Great Urban Campout in Somerville
The Recreation Department and Mayor's Office invite Somerville residents to spend a night camping in Lincoln Park. The 5th Annual Great Urban Campout will be held from Friday, July 25th until Saturday, July 26th. Set up tents anytime after noon on Friday. Join neighbors for s'mores over the campfire, games and stories, a performance by the Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure Society Brass Band, and plenty of coffee/donuts for anyone who makes it until the next morning. Come for the evening or camp overnight. Bring food to grill and a dish to pass.

SOMERVILLE -Over the next month, the City of Somerville will plant 575 new public trees-roughly the same amount planted over two years from 2010 to 2012-as it stays on schedule for its goal to plant 2,000 new trees by the end of 2015.

SOMERVILLE – The Somerville Public Library is pleased to announce that the latest book discussion in its “Muslim Journeys” will take place on Thursday, July 17 at 7 p.m. with a discussion of Terry Alford’s book, Prince Among Slaves at the Central Branch, 79 Highland Avenue. The series is free and open to the public.
