Otis St. Playground Renovation Meeting 3/3

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Ward 1 Alderman Matt McLaughlin, and the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development (OSPCD) invite all interested community members to a community meeting to discuss upcoming renovations to the Otis Street Playground. The meeting will be held at the East Somerville Community School, 50 Cross St., on Tues., March 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All are welcome to attend and share the ideas which will shape the design of the new playground. Playground renovations are expected to begin in July 2015.

Davis Sq. Detour for Road Race Sun. 3/15

On Sunday, Mar. 15, beginning at 9 a.m., City officials will detour vehicles in and around the Davis Sq. area to accommodate the running of the Race of Ireland road race, benefiting Somerville youth and Somerville athletics. Major roadways including Holland Street, Powerhouse Blvd, Broadway (in the Ball Square corridor) Cedar St. and Highland Ave. between Cedar St. and Davis Sq. will be closed temporarily as runners pass, beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting until approximately 1 p.m.

Volunteers Needed: Patriot’s Day Colonial Fair

Help the City re-live Paul Revere's historic ride from Boston through Somerville and onto Lexington and Concord. Adults and high school students are needed to help plan and execute the City's annual Patriots Day event, a Colonial Fair at Foss Park on Monday, April 20.
