SINGLE-SPACE PARKING METER PILOT BEGINS IN MAGOUN SQUARE

SOMERVILLE - The City of Somerville has partnered with Duncan Solutions to conduct
its second pilot of a single-space meter that accept credit cards.   Located for the first time in Magoun and Ball
Squares, the new meters will continue providing residents and visitors the
added convenience of multiple payment options while parking at a meter in
Somerville.  A similar pilot was recently
conducted in Davis and Union Squares, garnering positive feedback from both
drivers and business owners.

 

Ethanol T ransport Informational Meeting 3/11

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT)
will host an informational meeting on Monday, March 11th at the
Argenziano School regarding Ethanol Transport by Rail in Somerville.  All members
of the public are invited to attend.  The meeting will be held from 6:30
to 8:30 p.m. in the Argenziano School cafetorium, 290 Washington Street.

City of Somerville's Historic Preservation Commission is seeking volunteers for
the 2013 Patriot's Day ceremonies, scheduled for Monday, April 15th
from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Foss Park.  Help
the City re-live Paul Revere's historic ride from Boston through Somerville and
onto Lexington and Concord.  Adults and high school students are needed to
volunteer at the City's annual Patriots Day Colonial Fair.
