The City of Somerville and Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) recently completed a community health needs assessment called The Wellbeing of Somerville Report 2017. As a follow up to this report, the City and CHA are working together to better understand the healthcare service needs and health priorities of the Somerville community. We invited residents to take a survey to help us to identify and prioritize health needs for you, your family, and the Somerville Community.

Public Hearing to Discuss Tree Removal for Somerville Ave. Utility & Streetscape Improvements Project, March 28

The City of Somerville Tree Warden invites all interested residents and community members to a public hearing on Wednesday, March 28, to discuss upcoming tree removal as part of the construction process for the Somerville Ave. Utility & Streetscape Improvements Project. The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at the Albert F. Argenziano School, 290 Washington St.

Public Hearing on Proposed Zoning Overhaul Rescheduled for April 3

Members of the public are invited to attend a public hearing by the Somerville Planning Board and the Board of Aldermen’s Land Use Committee on Tuesday, April 3, at 6 p.m., to provide feedback. The hearing will be held in the Aldermanic Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 93 Highland Ave. Feedback can also be submitted online at www.somervillezoning.com, where detailed information on the overhaul, timeline, and upcoming meetings and events are also available.

Public Hearing on Proposed Transfer Fee Home Rule Petition to be Held Wednesday, April 4

Members of the public are invited to attend a public hearing hosted by the Board of Aldermen to discuss the proposed transfer fee home rule petition. The hearing will take place on Wednesday, April 4, at 6 p.m., at Somerville City Hall on the 2nd Floor in the Aldermanic Chambers.

Applications for Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program Available April 2

Program open to Somerville youth ages 16 and older. Employment opportunities available in City departments and with local business partners.

SOMERVILLE – Attention Somerville Youth! The Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program will be accepting applications for summer 2018 starting Monday, April 2. Through the annual program, more than 100 Somerville teens will be placed within City departments as well as with private business partners in Somerville. Eligible students must be Somerville residents, enrolled in high school, and at least 16 years of age. Limited opportunities are available for youth that are at least 15 years of age with the Department of Recreation.

Patriot’s Day Ceremonies on April 16, to Commemorate Paul Revere’s Ride

Annual celebration of the historic event to include colonial games, refreshments, visit by “Paul Revere” on horseback.

SOMERVILLE – Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Ward 1 Alderman Matt McLaughlin, and the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission invite all residents and community members to the City’s annual Patriot’s Day celebration, to be held at Foss Park on Mon., April 16, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
