- Furthering its commitment to residents' wellbeing and happiness, the
City of Somerville announced today a new partnership with the innovative health
and wellness platform, "Wellcoin,"  which
allows residents to reap benefits from participating local businesses as
rewards for healthy behaviors. Users can sign up for free at www.wellcoin.com.

 

 

CITY RECEIVES ADDITIONAL $2M GRANT FROM HUD TO MAKE 120 MORE HOMES LEAD SAFE

Lead Abatement Program available for eligible Somerville homeowners and tenants; City will de-lead homes for free.

SOMERVILLE - Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and the City
of Somerville's Lead Program Manager Daniel Hauck announce free de-leading for
120 Somerville housing units. Made possible by a $2.1 million continuation
grant from the Office of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the program
includes de-leading services which frequently include new windows and doors.

completion of key health and wellness goals for Let's Move! Cities, Towns and Counties (LMCTC). LMCTC is a major
component of First Lady Michelle Obama's comprehensive Let's Move!
initiative, which is dedicated to solving the childhood obesity epidemic within

- Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and Ward 1 Alderman Maureen Bastardi invite all
interested community members to the second in a series of discussions to
determine design plans for the new Symphony Park, to be constructed on the
vacant lot a the intersection of Pearl and Pinckney Streets in 2014. The
meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at
Bryant Manor, 75 Myrtle St. An initial community meeting was held in July 2013
to discuss the vision for the vacant lot on Pearl and Florence Streets and to
