Somerville Offers Free Taxi Rides to Local Food and Health Services 

Please note: The Taxi to Health program has been extended until October 31, 2024.

Somerville residents can once again sign up for free cab rides to access food and medical care through its Taxi to Health program. After establishing the program in 2020 as a crisis measure during the early days of the pandemic, the City of Somerville is relaunching the initiative using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

The Somerville Planning Board seeks one full member and one alternate member, and all Somerville residents are invited to apply. A background in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning, and/or land-use law is beneficial but not required. Applicants should be interested in job creation, affordable housing development, and open space and multimodal transportation strategies.
