Applications for Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program Now Available

Somerville youth ages 16 and older are eligible to apply for summer employment within City departments and with local business partners. Applications due April 21.

SOMERVILLE – Attention Somerville Youth! The Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program is now accepting applications for summer 2017, and more than 100 Somerville teens will be selected to participate in the annual job program which pairs young job seekers with opportunities within City departments as well as with private business partners in Somerville. Applications are available through Friday, April 21, at 12:30 p.m., and can be picked up at the Personnel Department in City Hall, 93 Highland Ave. Applications are also available online at somervillema.gov/summerjobs.

SOMERVILLE – Join the City of Somerville, Groundwork Somerville, and Comcast Cares for the annual Spring Cleanup and Community Barbecue on Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A rain date has been set for Saturday, April 29. All participants are invited to meet at the Blessing of the Bay Boat House on Shore Drive, at 9 a.m. for breakfast and coffee before setting out to your ward (note that coffee and breakfast will not be served at each ward.)

Winter Hill Playground Community Meeting, April 26

Please join the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, and Ward 4 Alderman Tony Lafuente, for the fourth in a series of community meetings to discuss upcoming renovations to the Winter Hill School Yard, on Wednesday, April 26, beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Winter Hill Community Innovation School cafeteria, entrance on the Medford St. side. West Branch Library Visioning Meeting, May 10

Revised Union Square Master Land Disposition Agreement (MLDA) Available; Next SRA Meeting Thursday, April 27
