Virtual Hearing Will Allow Public to Provide Feedback on Special Committee on Charter Review’s Proposed Changes to Somerville City Charter
The City of Somerville is announcing a Public Hearing before the City Council’s Special Committee on Charter Review, that is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 6 p.m. Members of the Somerville community are encouraged to join the virtual hearing to share their thoughts regarding the proposed updates to the City Charter.

Somerville Prevention Services Hosting Webinars For Community To Learn More About Problem Gambling
Free Webinars Will Be Held in English on April 27 and in Chinese on May 4
The City’s Prevention Services division, in partnership with the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC), invites the community to learn more about gambling, signs of problem gambling, how to prevent it, and treatment resources. The National Council on Problem Gambling estimates that two million adults in the U.S. meet the criteria for gambling disorder, with another four to six million people in the U.S. struggling with problem gambling.
Somerville Anti-Displacement Task Force Seeks New Members
The City of Somerville Anti-Displacement Task Force (ADTF), which was formed to research and recommend policies to prevent residential displacement, has now expanded to advocate for a wider range of the Somerville community, including small business displacement and cultural displacement.
The Task Force is seeking community members with an interest in working on anti-displacement policies to serve in a volunteer capacity on one of the Task Force’s three committees:
