Somerville’s Reopening to Return to Limited Phase 3 Step 1 Status as of Monday, Feb. 1
Mayor Joe Curtatone announced today that certain Phase 3 Step 1 businesses, including fitness clubs and gyms, may once again open in Somerville on Monday, February 1, the same day that related rollbacks will end in Boston, and one week after early closing requirements were lifted statewide by Governor Baker.
City of Somerville Launches Call-In Lines for COVID-19 Vaccine Information
The City of Somerville has launched phone lines that residents can call to listen to recorded updates on COVID-19 vaccine information. Five lines, each with a different language, are available. Because vaccination information is changing rapidly, these lines will be updated frequently and will only provide the latest information. Somerville Businesses to Remain at 25% Capacity Limit
The City of Somerville will not join the Commonwealth in raising capacity limits on Monday, February 8 for certain businesses. Capacity limits in Somerville businesses will remain at 25% or the limit set in the business’s City-approved health and safety plan until further notice.

The new Somerville High School is ready for its debut. In an opening no one could have envisioned at the project’s outset, the building welcomed younger students starting March 4 as part of the district’s phased return to in-person learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
