Somerville Seeking Snow Plowing Contractors

October 15, 2024 - June 30, 2026

Somerville’s DPW, through the Procurement Department, is seeking contractors to provide snow plowing services for the City from October 15, 2024 - June 30, 2026.

Interested vendors may obtain a Request for Application (RFA) packet from the Procurement Department web page, or by emailing a request to procurement@somervillema.gov

Vendors must return their completed RFA packet by Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at 2:00 pm for early contract offers.

Mayor Ballantyne Seeks to Expand Climate Action & Energy Savings to Renters via New Ordinance

Residents invited to help shape proposed Rental Registry and Energy Disclosure ordinance to bring greater energy efficiency, affordability, and more to renters

Roughly two-thirds of Somerville residents are renters, and Mayor Katjana Ballantyne is determined to improve their access to the energy savings and health benefits of green energy upgrades often out of reach to renters–especially low-income renters. And she’s asking residents to help her do so.

City of Somerville and Somerville Public Library Announce Temporary Modified Hours at Central Library

East and West Branch Library Hours Remain Unchanged.

Starting Wednesday, August 28, the Central Library of the Somerville Public Library will temporarily implement a modified afternoon schedule during weekdays. Weekend hours will remain unchanged. 

Please note the following modifications to the Central Library’s Operating Hours for this Wednesday and Thursday:
