LOCATION

The Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development will hold a sixth community meeting on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 6:30 P.M., at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School Cafeteria, 5 Cherry Street, to present the final proposed rezoning map that will allow for mixed-use development in key gateways of the Porter Square area.

The Porter Square Visioning Process began in May 2009, producing a draft vision statement based on constituent feedback.  Using this input, the City conducted an open and inclusive study process to determine future zoning changes for key gateways such as

Wilson Square, Somerville

Avenue, the MBTA Air Rights,

White Street

,

Elm Street

, and

Mossland Street

in the

Porter Square

area.

This sixth meeting in the Visioning Series will focus on presenting the final proposed rezoning map depicting changes in current zoning that will allow for mixed-use development in the key gateways of the Porter and

Wilson Square

areas as envisioned by community members.
