Stephen Tourlentes and Amber Davis Tourlentes from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts will discuss Kodachrome and how and why it went away.
Topics include; Kodachrome vs Ektachrome, digital editing now (simulating the kodachrome saturation/palette? / instagram), it's history, and how to scan it?
As
artists artists Stephen and Amber have both explored the ever-changing
identity of America through photography. Steve’s haunting images of
maximum security prisons and “death houses,” provide a paradoxical view
of our relationship to these institutions and their impact on the
landscape—both physical and social. Amber’s photographs investigate the
breadth of contemporary families beyond the nuclear family’s idealized
constructions of gender, sexuality, and class. The couple live in Somerville.
