Somerville Police Assisting Middlesex DA in Investigating Fatal Shooting on Dartmouth Street
The following is an important update from the Somerville Police regarding a fatal shooting on Dartmouth Street.
Dear community members,
The Somerville Police are currently supporting the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office in the investigation of a fatal shooting that occurred last night in Somerville, on Monday, July 22. We ask the community to share in our sincere condolences to the victim’s loved ones as we provide the following safety message.
At approximately 10:27 p.m. on Monday night, Somerville Police responded to reports of a shooting on Dartmouth Street. The 49-year-old male victim, identified as Paul Nolan, was located on scene suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds and was transported to Mass General where he was later pronounced dead.
I’ve ordered increased patrols in the area, and while we believe there is no ongoing threat to the immediate area, we ask you to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. If there is an urgent threat to public safety, please call 911 for an immediate response. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Somerville Police at 617-625-1212.
