Robin Amos: Live Electronic Music Performance, Featuring Visuals by Allison Tanenhaus + Vidumami

Somerville-based synthesizer musician Robin Amos presents PKD, a multimedia suite inspired by the writing of Philip K. Dick. Presented to the public for the first time in its entirety, the performance features electronic music by Robin Amos and Blaik Ripton (who perform with video artist Allison Tanenhaus as the band The Square Root of Negative Two), with additional visuals by Vidumami.

A Morning of History on the Cold War with Andrew Chatfield (Council on Aging)

The discussion on the origins of the Cold War will trace the cultural, social, economic, political, and diplomatic components of the United States during the early years of the conflict beginning in 1945. We will examine the events of the mid-1940s that sowed the seeds of mistrust, suspicion, and tumult as both the American and Soviet blocs became more wary and more hostile towards each other.

Youth Substance Misuse Prevention Data Share Back & Discussion - Portuguese Session

The City of Somerville’s Prevention Services division, the Cambridge Health Alliance – City of Everett, the Town of Arlington’s Youth Health & Safety Coalition, and the Town of Lexington’s Human Services department secured the MassCALL3 grant for regional youth substance misuse prevention work, awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (MA-DPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) division.

Limited Drop-Off Service for Residential Household Hazardous

The City of Somerville will offer limited household hazardous waste (HHW) drop-off service to residents. Residents may dispose of eligible items each Thursday in November and December, excluding Thanksgiving.

Anticipated Illuminations Tour Map Launch

We’re happy to announce that the Illuminations Tour and citywide caroling is back. As in recent years, the Somerville Arts Council will provide an online map featuring the best and brightest holiday displays.
