Temporary Water Shutoff for Maintenance Fri. 7/3 Near Magoun Sq.

On Fri., July 3, beginning at 9 a.m., the City's Water Division will temporarily interrupt water service for residents on Main St., Moreland St., Meacham St., Edgar Ave., Douglas Ave., Fremont St., and Upland Park in order to replace a broken valve. This interruption in service is expected to last approximately 6 hours, however may be completed sooner.

Once service has been restored, you may experience temporary discoloration in your water, and though the water is safe to drink, residents are advised to run the water until it is clear and to avoid washing clothes, especially white fabrics. If any rust stains appear on the wet laundry, the clothes should not be dried, and you should call 311 or 617-666-3311 from outside the city to receive a free bottle of rust remover.
