SUMMER EVENTS SCHEDULE IN SOMERVILLE ANNOUNCED

Fireworks, Family Fun Day, SomerStreets, SomerMovies, ArtBeat and more included in City’s 2013 summer celebrations.

SOMERVILLE - Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone announces the 2013 summer events lineup for the City of Somerville. The summer events series includes the annual Fireworks and Family Fun Day celebrations, ArtBeat, SomerStreets, SomerMovie Fest, the Mayor's Senior Picnic, and much more. All events are free of charge and open to the public, as follows:

  • Somerville Squeezebox Slam
  • Joe's Jazz and Blues Fest
  • Fireworks at Trum Field
    • Thursday, June 27, 6-10pm (rain date June 28)
  • Sunsetters Performances
    • Concerts by the City's youth performance troupe will be held from June 27 to late August at various locations, and can be held in your neighborhood by request. See www.somervillema.gov for the schedule and request performances at JRossetti@somervillema.gov.
  • Family Fun Day at Trum Field
    • Saturday, June 29, noon-5pm (rain date June 30)
  • SomerMovie Fest
    • Eight outdoor movie showings from July 11 to August 29 at parks throughout the City. Check website for updated schedule.
  • ArtBeat in Davis Sq.
    • Friday & Saturday, July 19 & 20
  • Seize the Summer @ SomerStreets
    • Sunday, July 28, noon-4pm, Highland Ave. (Walnut St. to cedar St.)
  • Going Green on Route 16 @ SomerStreets
    • Sunday, August 18, noon-4pm (Dilboy Field to Broadway)
  • Mayor's Senior Picnic
    • Wednesday, August 7, 11am, Powderhouse Park
