(Deadline Extended) Somerville Condominium Review Board Seeks Two Members

The City of Somerville seeks two residents to fill vacancies on the City’s Condominium Review Board (CRB). One vacancy is for a full member, which is open to Somerville tenants, and one vacancy is for an alternate member, which is open to all Somerville residents.

The CRB is responsible for administering the City’s Condominium Conversion Ordinance, which governs proposed conversion of rental units to condominium units and substantial rehabilitation of existing rental units. The CRB has five full members and one alternate member. The alternate member participates in all discussion on items before the Board and votes in the place of full members when full members are absent from a meeting. All members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.

The CRB meets monthly, typically on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. This appointment includes a stipend of $300 monthly. Members serve three-year terms.

Applications are due Wednesday, November 30. Interested candidates should submit a resume and statement of interest, as well as any relevant supplemental materials, by email to condoboard@somervillema.gov or by mail to Morena Zelaya, CRB Staff Liaison, City of Somerville, 50 Evergreen Ave., 2nd Floor, Somerville, MA 02145. Please contact Morena at 617-625-6600 ext. 2575 or at condoboard@somervillema.gov with questions.
