Residential Shoveling Time Extended to Noon Fri.

As the City and our constituents continue to clean up from this week's historic snowfall, Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone announced today that he has extended the deadline for residents to shovel sidewalks until noon on Friday. Please note that this extension only applies to residential properties. Commercial properties' sidewalks must be cleaned by noon today (Thursday).

Please note that snow is also forecasted for Friday. If snow starts falling before noon tomorrow normal shoveling regulations go into effect, meaning:

  • If snow stops falling during the day on Saturday, as forecasted, property owners will have until 10 p.m. Saturday to shovel.
  • If snow stops falling before dawn on Saturday, property owners will have until 10 a.m. Saturday to shovel.

Mayor Curtatone also announced this week that the City will be moving to a system of alternating parking during the snow season, to take effect in future snow seasons. More details will be announced at a later date.
