Independence Day Fireworks June 27 and Related Detours

The Independence Day celebration will begin with free entertainment at 6:30 p.m., concluding with a 30-minute fireworks display at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The following street closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on Thursday evening:

    A
  • Broadway from Medford St. to Boston Ave.
  • Cedar St. from Morrison Ave. to Broadway
  • Franey Rd. and Charles E. Ryan Rd.

The Ball Square Bridge Hopper, a free shuttle to help passengers navigate the Broadway bridge closure, will be running from 7 to 10 p.m. during the Fireworks celebration. The shuttle will run on a continuous loop between Boston Ave. at Broadway and the CVS in Magoun Square. Search "Bridge Hopper" in your smartphone's app store to download the app, which will show you where the shuttle is on its route. Please note that the app will display the typical weekday stops and not this revised route. Use the Bridge Hopper to get through the road detours and access local businesses in Ball Square and Magoun Square.

For public safety reasons, dogs will be restricted from the event area, and we advise that attendees not bring unnecessary bags or backpacks. All bags and backpacks are subject to search.

If you have any questions, please call the City’s Constituent Service line at 311 or 617-666-3311. We hope you'll join us this Thursday to celebrate Independence Day!
