CITY HOLDS THE LINE ON WATER RATES; NO INCREASE IN FY13
SOMERVILLE - Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone announces that
water/sewer rates will remain unchanged in Fiscal Year 2013. Although the City's assessments from the MWRA
increased by a combined 2.6%, the City will maintain rates at the FY12 rate
(please see below for breakdown of rates).

"We decided that the City could afford to absorb the modest
increase in water costs us, and that holding the line on water rates would be something
that benefit everyone in the City, said Mayor
Curtatone. "It's a way for us to help ratepayers still dealing with the tough
economic times that we have all been experiencing over the last few years."
