Celebrate Somerville and Shop Local on Small Business Saturday
Mayor Katjana Ballantyne is inviting the community to celebrate Small Business Saturday this Saturday, November 30, by shopping locally and supporting the vibrant small businesses that make our city unique. From artisan shops and cozy cafes to family-owned stores and specialty services, Somerville’s small businesses are the heart of the Somerville community and play a vital role in its economic vitality.
“Somerville’s small businesses are so much more than places to shop—they are the places we gather, connect, and celebrate,” said Mayor Katjana Ballantyne. “When you shop locally, you’re not just supporting business owners; you’re supporting your neighbors, their families, and the future of our community. This Saturday, I encourage everyone to explore the unique offerings of Somerville and keep your dollars local.”
For those looking to discover new spots to shop or explore, the City of Somerville has an interactive business map at explore.somervillema.gov. The map highlights a wide array of businesses, helping you plan a shopping day that’s uniquely Somerville.
Small Business Saturday is a national movement that highlights the importance of shopping locally and supporting the small businesses that drive our neighborhoods.
