The City is declaring a snow emergency to go into effect at 12 p.m. (noon) on Sunday, February 22. Learn more here. Impacts to City offices, services, and programming are listed below.

  • City Offices: All City offices will be physically closed on Monday, February 23. City staff will be working on the snow response and on any services that can be completed virtually, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.
  • Somerville Public Schools: Check back for updates.
  • Libraries:The East branch will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday for community members seeking relief from the cold. All other libraries will be closed.
  • Council on Aging: All Council on Aging sites will be closed Monday, in-person programming is canceled, and the senior transportation program will not be running.
  • Recreation: All Recreation programs are canceled on Monday.
  • Ginny Smithers Pool: The Ginny Smithers Pool will be closed on Monday and all pool programs canceled.
  • Overnight Warming Center (42 Prescott St.): The Emergency Overnight Warming Center will remain open until 9 a.m. on Monday.
  • Trash & Recycling Pickup: Delayed one day for the full week.
  • Public Meetings:
    • School Committee: Please check back for updates.
    • City Council Traffic and Parking meeting canceled.
    • Condo Review Board: Please check back for updates.
