About the Municipal Compensation Advisory Board
The Municipal Compensation Advisory Board was created under a municipal ordinance. Consisting of five members, three of whom are appointed by the Mayor and two of whom are appointed by the President of the City Council, the Council continuously studies the adequacy of the compensation and expense allowances of all elected City officials, all officials appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the City Council, and any other officials or non-union City employees. Each even-number year, by the third week in November, the Municipal Compensation Advisory Board reports its recommendations and findings, relative to compensation and allowances for those under its jurisdiction, to the Mayor and the City Council. A copy of the report is filed with the City Clerk, and held for public record.
